Our research program is particularly broad, spanning cognitive, computational and systems neuroscience. Students and post-docs in the lab acquire skills on a wide range of topics relevant to our research program: MRI physics and data acquisition, data pre-processing, advanced statistical analysis and computational modeling, data visualization and interpretation. We are always on the lookout for graduate students and post-docs with expertise in any of the following areas: MRI Physics, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, Physics or Engineering.

Joining us as a graduate student

We accept graduate students through the Neuroscience, Biophysics, and Vision Science programs at UC Berkeley. We also accept students through the joint UCB/UCSF Bioengineering program. Our lab is affiliated with the Department of Computer Science at UCB, so we also accept graduate students in EECS. The Psychology program at UCB does not have a formal first-year laboratory rotation system, so we usually do not accept students through the graduate program in Psychology. If you are interested in joining the Gallant lab as a graduate student, you should contact the relevant graduate program for application and admissions information.

Joining us as a post-doc

Potential post-docs should contact Professor Gallant directly at: gallant[at]berkeley.edu

Joining us for an extended research internship

Unfortunately at this time our lab is very full and we cannot support visiting undergraduate or graduate interns from other Universities.
